Meet Captain Courteney Landis

In a sport that often requires being tall, freshman Courteney Landis is typically the shortest player on the court, standing at 5-foot 3-inches.   Landis is the starting point guard, and is the team captain on Linn-Benton’s women’s basketball team. Landis played hoops throughout her years at West Linn, and is a long-time athlete, beginning sports when she was four-years-old. She is a tri-sport athlete: playing basketball, gymnastics, and soccer. In her sports career, Landis believes her biggest accomplishment is making it to the college level here at LBCC, because when she was in high school she went through a lot of injuries her senior year of high school she had to get shoulder surgery then in her first year at LBCC she had to get knee surgery which kept her out of basketball for a whole year. Battle of Wills Lane defeats LBCC Women; 81-75

Title: Battle of Wills Deck: LB Women's basketball lose to Lane Linn-Benton’s Activity Center was the site of a hard-fought battle for second place in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) women’s standings on Jan. 25. Linn-Benton Roadrunners (4-2) played the Lane Titans (4-1) in a game that proved both these teams were deserving of a top seed, but Lane was more deserving narrowing out the win 81-75 due to the scoring of Sarah Hall who had 29 points and Sierra Carrier who had 22 points and 12 rebounds . The score was 42-33 in favor of the Titans at halftime, where they outscored Linn- Benton 25-14 in the second quarter.   Starting the third quarter, the crowd was getting into the game.
